Our Story

At New Zealand Eco Honey we believe it's the little things that make a big difference, so when we were attending markets with our big sister brand Greytown Honey and our customers said - glass is great but we used to buy our honey in cardboard and tins we listened.

Lucky for us, beekeeping is in our blood so we didn't have to look far to hear the stories about Uncle Pop and his cardboard pottle expertise to fuel our drive to make a difference, my father could describe to me exactly what the pottles were like, the gadget they used to make them with and the pros and cons of what to look for and especially what to avoid!

We searched and product tested more options than you can imagine, worked with our amazing Geoff - a local designer to create a brand for families and Alex set to work to make sure the honey was at just the right amount of creaminess.

Our roll out for New Zealand Eco Honey hasn't been without it's delays along the way - we were all ready to launch and then we had a few unexpected soccer punches along the way like heart surgery, cancer and Covid-19 to name a few but we'll call that experience and more time to make sure that the cardboard packaging we've adopted was absolutely fit for purpose!

You'll find our processing factory in little old Greytown - well we're out of town because as Winnie the Pooh would say, 'Where there's honey, there's bees.' So you'll find us nestled away just off the State Highway 2 by the Tauherenikau Racecourse (58 Moroa Road, Tauherenikau).

Our factory shop - 'The Honey Stables' is filled to the brim with goodies of all things bees and honey - you'll find our sister brand Greytown Honey and all the amazing products on offer from Pure Beeswax Candles, Beeswax Foodwraps through to Manuka Honey Lozenges, Wildflower Honey Suckers and Kanuka Honey Dark Chocolate... It's definitely worth a look! Sorry - not sorry!
